The Director has held senior positions in the education and training industry in Mauritius before joining AEA. He is passionate about fostering the right education and people development. He started his career as a lecturer at the University of Mauritius where he stayed for five years before being appointed in 1991 as General Manager of a state-owned enterprise engaged in training (Sitrac Ltd.).
Girish holds a PhD in Management from Wits Business School (WBS), South Africa, an MSc from Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London, UK and an MBA from University of Mauritius. He has also attended several workshops/seminars in Management and Training. He also holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Monitoring & Evaluation from the University of Victoria, Canada.
His passion about education led him to join AEA on a full-time basis in 2003 when he saw the opportunity to engage himself as a private provider of post-secondary education. He then spearheaded the expansion of the organisation as one of the leading post-secondary/tertiary institutes in Mauritius.
Girish is also a well-respected figure in education and training in Mauritius having participated in the setting up of various initiatives in education and training in Mauritius. He was a Board Member of the Mauritius Qualifications Authority from 2003 to 2011. He is also a Fellow of the Mauritius Institute of Directors (F. MIoD).
Girish is also recognized as a leading player on soft skills training. He has trained hundreds of employees both in Mauritius and the African region. His enthusiasm, sense of humour and highly motivational presentations helps participants feel great about their jobs, helps them understand their responsibility to their companies and equips them with techniques to interact more effectively. He also attended many Facilitator Development and Train-The-Trainer conferences during his career.
His clients include well known organisations like Thomas Cook (Mauritius Office), Glaxo-SmithKline (Mauritius Office), MTN (Rwanda), Electrogaz (Rwanda), Rwanda Revenue Authority, Bowman International Sports (Mauritius), Ceridian (Mauritius), Outre-Mer Telecom (Mauritius Office) and Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (Rwanda). He is also a consultant British Council for Leadership training and development and a resource person for the Civil Service College, Mauritius.
